PROPOSAL OF CSI

Sub: Project Based Summer Training

Dear Sir/Madam

This is to inform you that like the previous years, this year also, the Computer Society of India (CSI) Kolkata Chapter will be organizing Project based Summer Training for the students of Engineering (B. Tech), BCA and MCA . The abstract of the project plan is given below for your kind perusal.

1. Training on : Besides the subjects given in the enclosure, other subjects may also be taken up subject to availability of faculty.
2. Duration of training : Total 50 hrs. (approx.)i.e Four weeks, Three days in a week; OR Six weeks, Two days in a week.
3. Time schedule of classes : Mutually arranged
4. Grouping / PC availability : Each Group will comprise of Four Students, and One / Two PC would be provided to each Group.
5. Certification : CSI Kolkata Chapter will issue certificates after completion of training.
6. Venue : CSI, Kolkata Chapter, 5, Elgin Road, 4th Floor, Kolkata- 700 020.
7. Fees for Summer Training of B.Tech/ BE Students : • Rs. 2,000/- for each student
8. Project fees for MCA, BCA & BBA Students : • Negotiable
9. Career information programe will be arranged by professionals from leading IT Industries / Business Houses

Terms and conditions:
• There will be no classes on Public Holidays/ CSI Chapter Holidays.
• The class schedules (timing/ day) may be changed due to unavoidable circumstance.
• The payment should be made by Cheque / DD in favour of “Computer Society of India, Kolkata Chapter” or by Cash. The payment should be made one week in advance from the date of starting the program.
• Any change in respect of Terms & Conditions and of training programe may not be entertained after commencement of the project.

SPEND YOUR SUMMER AT CSI

Project modules to be chosen from:
? Web enabled applications with specific focus in JAVA,PHP,VB,C ,C++and dot Net
? DBMS applications with specific focus in Oracle 9i & Oracle 10g
? Linux Administration
? Advanced computing applications for example projects in Artificial Intelligence, Image Processing, Computer Graphics, Soft Computing, Cryptology, Bioinformatics etc.
? VLSI Design and Principle

Projects will be supervised by experienced CSI faculties and monitored by CSI members from academic institutes like (Jadavpur University, University of Calcutta, West Bengal University of Technology, Indian Statistical Institute, DOEACC Centre etc.) and leading software companies like TCS, CTS,etc.

Project contents and presentation will be evaluated and scorecards along with certificates from CSI will be given to the trainees at the end of the programme. Special seminars will be organized by industry expert. Adequate theoretical classes will be provided depending on the requirement. Students can avail of the library facility of CSI Kolkata Chapter.

The tailor made training modules are arranged for graduating students of degree/diploma programmes for different duration:
I. One month project training.
II. One month project training including theoretical classes (for example project and course module in Oracle 9i with VB front end).
iii. Six-month project for MCA final year students.
iv. Projects for IGNOU and other Open University students suitable for both regular students and working professionals.
