Why Industrial Training?
The basic objective of Industrial Training during semester vacations which usually occurs twice in a year after each semester examination should be intended towards developing ones knowledge relevant to Industrial need by Integrating University curriculum with Real Life working in Industries.
Few more thoughts:
• What we learn through University curriculum and applying that knowledge to solve real life problems in an Industrial environment.
• Verifying practical applicability of the knowledge gathered through university curriculum.
• Practical Application of theory in Industries
Categorization of Industries:
Based on operation Engineering and Technology Industries broadly can be classified as follows:
1. Manufacturing Industries(UPS/Inverter/Electronics and Electrical Machine design and Manufacturing Industries like HAL,BHEL,NTPC,DSP, Tata Rayerson, Hundusthan Motors, Jai Balaji etc).
2. Service Industries(Metro Rail, BSNL,WBSEB etc)
3. Research and Development Organization (DRDO,ISRO,TIFR,CMERI etc)
Student’s Objective:
To be more precise each and every student must go for Industrial Training after 5th Semester and 6th Semester and training must be project based. Development of these projects must be in sync with the Final project need to be deposited during final semester as per the university curriculum.
Flow chart to become successful Engineer:
Step-1 : Effectively Gathering subject knowledge during semesters study till 5th Semester.
Step-2 : Application of subject knowledge gathered in Industry through Winter Training
Step-3 : Going through the Training Module at Industry. The Training module must be designed considering subject knowledge of the student at that time and with an objective of developing small project.
Step-4 : The duration of the training should not be more than 4 weeks.
Step-5 : Presentation of Project Report at institute during start of 6th Semester
Step-6 : After 6th Semester Exam the above steps (Step1 to Step-5) must be repeated.
Step-7 : During 7th and 8th Semester student must develop the final project in association with the Industry.
Step-8 : Presentation of final project.
Step-9 : Try to get Job at the relevant Industry (relevancy refers to the technology used in the project work) with the help of Placement Cell.
