AIEMD is one of the premier technical institutions of the west bengal. It was adjusted the 4th best technical institution in India for the year 2011 by the Siliconindia surveyers. The department of Electronics and Electrical Communication, AIEMD was established in the year 2003 with an intake of 60 students, which was subsequently increased to 120 in view of the competence of the infrastructure of the department. It is among the finest in the college having qualified faculty and well equipped laboratories. The department offers BTech degree course in Electrical and Electronics Engineering & Electronics and Communication Engineering.
